Vitality of Call review for Rev Mark Faulkner
After being in settlement for four years, every Minister has a “vitality of call” review to reflect on the life of the congregation, the placement of the Minister, and generally how things are going. It is an opportunity for reflection, growth and change.

This review for Rev Mark is to be held at the end of this month. As part of this review, Rev Mark chooses one person to be on the team, the Church Council chooses two people and the Presbytery has appointed two people to lead it; Rev Colin Bradford and Amelia Peisley, a member of St James’ congregation. Mark has asked Chris Dodd and the Church Council have asked Rob Tanton and Helen Lehman. As part of this anyone in the congregation who would like to make confidential comment to Rev. Lent Reflections and Conversations
This year throughout Lent (the weeks leading up to Easter), on Sunday evenings, there will be an opportunity to ponder the last days of the life of Jesus Christ. There will be dvd presentations that take us to the very locations in Jerusalem that were a part of Christ’s life, along with a time of discussion and reflection.

This group will be suitable for people who are new to the faith or people who have been Christians for a long time. It will also be a good group for older High schoolers and adults. An email will be sent out to the congregation with more information, but I hope to begin this series of exciting reflections on Sunday 20th March.

Church Choir
Now that we have a permanent building and piano, I would like to form a more permanent choir, which would sing for some services during the year. The first performance will be on Palm Sunday. If you are interested in being in the choir, we will be practising on the 1^st and 3^rd Thursday night of each month from 8:00pm to 9:30pm.

The first practice will be on the 3rd of March. Please talk to Rob Tanton (6242 9450) if you are interested in joining, and if you have any ideas for music to sing.

Advent and Christmas @ Gungahlin Uniting
Today is the third Sunday in the season of Advent; that time in the life of the church when we ponder the ‘waiting time’ before we celebrate the birth of Jesus. Oasis group will lead us for part of worship on 12th.

This year we will have combined community carols and BBQ with the Salvation Army and Holy Spirit Catholic Church on Sunday 19th. December, starting at 6.30pm, in the paddock outside the Gungahlin Uniting Church and Community Centre.

Christmas Eve worship will be here at 9.30 pm
Christmas Day worship will be at 9.30 am

All friends, family, strangers, young and old are welcome!

Usually we celebrate communion on the second Sunday of the month, however we will have it today so that the Oasis group can lead us for part of worship on 12th.
