Please note: Worship gatherings are currently suspended due to the Uniting Church’s response to the COVID-19 virus. We have made the decision to suspend all worship and community gatherings for the time being and encouraging people to limit contact with others for the safety and care of the community.
We try really hard to be an intergenerational worshipping community, which means we have people of all ages (literally 0 to 93!) worshipping and fellowshipping together.
Young people are a welcome part of our worshipping community, some participating in the music leading, technology, scripture reading and welcoming people.
First Sunday Breakfast
Young People in year 6 and up gather on the 1st Sunday of the month for breakfast with the minister. During this time we spend time catching up, discussing faith, engaging with world events and eating together.
Our young people gather regularly socially for food and fellowship.
We have a mentoring program where we try and connect young people to a leader/mentor who can act as a guide and friend.
Link: What is a mentor?
Young people are invited to meet with their mentor on the 4th Sunday of the month during the second half of worship. Mentor time is flexible and arranged in consultation with parents/guardians. Some mentors have walked together to a cafe for a conversation with their young people, others stay on site and share in conversation, game, prayer.
Finding a mentor can take some time, we invite the young people and families to get to know people within the community and build relationships. If you/your child would like to be linked with a mentor please speak with our minister, Darren Wright.
