The Very Good Gospel: How Everything Wrong Can Be Made Right

February 4, 2020 by Darren Wright

Title:  The Very Good Gospel: How Everything Wrong Can Be Made Right

Author:  Lisa Sharon Harper

Pages:  224

Themes:  Peace, Shalom, Kingdom of God, Relationship, Scripture, Discipleship, Justice, Hope, Healing, Love

Audiobook:  We do not have this book on audio, but it can be accessed through Audible.com.au

Description

This is a beautiful exploration of Shalom, and what peace might look like…

  • At work?
  • In our homes?
  • In our schools?
  • To you?
  • To God?

Lisa invites the reader on a journey to spend some time in the book of Genesis asking us how the stories may open up the Kingdom of God to us, and wondering what this might mean to us as a church and as individuals.  Lisa opens up the scriptures to us all and asks us to look at how we have used the scriptures to enable, encourage and empower racism and violence and challenges us to uncover a gospel of peace.

Lisa invites us all to live out the freedom and peace of the Gospel and heal the world.

About GUC

We are a community on a journey, we’ve grown from a small faith community planted in Ngunnawal in the early years of Gungahlin’s development to a thriving inclusive, intergenerational & multicultural community. As Gungahlin has grown we have seen a lot of change.

We are an open and inclusive community, everyone is welcome to use their gifts in worship, prayer, leadership, hospitality and teaching.
