Prayer Points – 29 Sep 2013

29/09/2013 by Church Office

For our GUC Community:

  • We pray for our minister Mark, that healing will continue since surgery and for peace and hop for him and his family.
  • We pray for guidance for each of the teams that are preparing to lead us in worship in the next weeks.
  • We pray for those among us who are considering who to nominate for Church Council, and those who will need to make decisions about accepting nomination, that God’s choice for this time will be clear.
  • We pray for those among us who are homesick for a place and a community that they have left behind, that they will be comforted.
  • We pray for our neighbours who come to the food pantry, that they will find friendship and hope there.

For Presbytery & the wider church: Gungahlin Congregation
Pray for:

  • The ministry of our new Food Pantry to assist people struggling to make ends meet.
  • Our work with Primary and High School young people.
  • Forthcoming events – those attending Black Stump and Congregation Getaway.
  • Our minister Mark Faulkner recovering from recent surgery, Peta-Gai, Rose-Mary and Wesley.
  • Those taking a lead in worship, pastoral care and administration while Mark is on sick leave.

For our World: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia
Pray for:

  • The Georgian Orthodox Church, that is may rediscover a rich relationship with the family of churches worldwide.
  • A foundation for peace among these countries.
  • Those suffering poverty and unemployment.
  • New concern for the environment.

About GUC

We are a community on a journey. We’ve grown from a small faith community planted in Ngunnawal in the early years of Gungahlin’s development to a thriving intergenerational and multicultural community located near the Gungahlin town centre.

Gungahlin Uniting Church is an open and inclusive community.  You are welcome to join us and participate in the life of our community as we experience life, God and seek to follow the way of Christ.

Worship With Us

Every Sunday, 9:30am
Gungahlin Uniting Church and Community Centre

Worship is for all ages, (0 to 93!) and seeks to be meaningful in different ways for us all.

In Jesus Christ we see how he drew near to each and all and so we hope our worship expresses this nearness too.
