Girls’ Brigade

October 7, 2016 by Church Office

girlsbrigade

Girls’ Brigade is a ministry of Gungahlin Uniting Church that operates internationally in conjunction with many Christian Churches of all denominations. Girls’ Brigade seeks to develop girls and young women in life and leadership skills and team work, whilst developing meaningful and supportive relationships, within a fun, safe and secure environment.

Most importantly, it aims to build girls and young women up in their faith and understanding of Christ and equip them for times of trial, future ministry and simply sharing the Gospel with their friends.

We have girls from many walks of life attending Gungahlin Girls’ Brigade. Some attend a church, some don’t, they come from many different places around Australia and the world. Their parents consider Girls’ Brigade such an important place for their daughters they bring them back week after week.

To help us in our work with these girls and young women we need leaders who are committed to Christ and to ministering to young people. You don’t need to belong to Gungahlin Uniting Church. You must have, or be able to get a WWVP card.

If you are interested, or for more information, check us out on Facebook, call or email us, or pop in on a Wednesday night during school terms, 6:30 to 8pm at the Salvation Army, 104 The Valley Way, Gungahlin.

About GUC

We are a community on a journey, we’ve grown from a small faith community planted in Ngunnawal in the early years of Gungahlin’s development to a thriving inclusive, intergenerational & multicultural community. As Gungahlin has grown we have seen a lot of change.

We are an open and inclusive community, everyone is welcome to use their gifts in worship, prayer, leadership, hospitality and teaching.

Worship is for all ages, (0 to 93!) and seeks to be meaningful in different ways for us all.
