Worship on Sunday 6th November

October 31, 2016 by Church Office

9:30am All Age Worship
Rev. Mark Faulkner

Bible Readings
Haggai 1:15b-2:9; Psalm 145:1-5,17-21; Psalm 98
2 Thessalonians 2:1-5,13-17; Luke 20:27-38

This Sunday, 9.30am, we gather for worship to be a people of thankfulness, faithfulness and community. Before morning tea worship will be led by Lori Van Dore while I have breakfast with the Billabong (youth) Group! Following morning tea we will sing and pray and begin our three weeks of pondering the passage of Mary and Martha (Luke 10: 38-42.) as part of our preparation for Advent. I hope these times will be both a moment for reflection as well as for devotion and prayer.

Following worship we have our AGM at which we have Church Council elections. Everyone is welcome.

New nominations for Church Council are:

  • Elina Akauola (willing to serve for 2 years)
  • Lori Van Dore (willing to serve for 2 years)
  • Ngraire Hosking (willing to serve for 2 years)
  • Heather Lamb (willing to serve for 2 years)

First Sunday Converse and Café is on this Sunday at 6pm. This is a time of prayer, silence, music, and faith discussion. Following, for any who wish, there is the opportunity to go to a local café for a meal together. Again…. Everyone is welcome and it is easy to come along to!

I look forward to seeing you.

Mark

About GUC

We are a community on a journey, we’ve grown from a small faith community planted in Ngunnawal in the early years of Gungahlin’s development to a thriving inclusive, intergenerational & multicultural community. As Gungahlin has grown we have seen a lot of change.

We are an open and inclusive community, everyone is welcome to use their gifts in worship, prayer, leadership, hospitality and teaching.

Worship is for all ages, (0 to 93!) and seeks to be meaningful in different ways for us all.
