Worship on Sunday 3rd December

27/11/2017 by Church Office

9:30am All Age Worship
Rev. Jonathan Barker & Jenny Batt

Bible Readings
Isaiah 65:17-25; Psalm 80:1-7,17-19
Mark 13: 24-37

Greetings to the Gungahlin Uniting community

This coming Sunday is the first Sunday in Advent and our theme is HOPE. In the foreword to our “Reflections for Advent” it says “HOPE is not the escapist hope of returning to an imagined better past, but the living hope of a new future where equity and justice flower”. The birth of Jesus signifies that God’s new future for all humanity is about to be “born” – good cause to shout “Alleluia!”

If you still need to pick up your copy of Ranjini’s “Reflections for Advent” please do so today.

After morning tea we regather as usual. Billabong meets with Jonathan and Oasis meets for the last time for the year.

Next Sunday out theme is JOY. We are inviting you all to bring a picture(s) expressive of Joy, which can be pasted up a JOY panel.

Converse and Café meets tonight at 6pm. We shall explore the HOPE theme using the art of Pablo Picasso. Interested?

Monday evening – 4th December (from 7-8 pm), anyone who would like to share with others in a fellowship and scripture conversation series (based on advent themes) is welcome to attend.

May this coming week be a time when existing hopes hold true and new hopes surprise you!

Grace and Peace
Jonathan

About GUC

We are a community on a journey. We’ve grown from a small faith community planted in Ngunnawal in the early years of Gungahlin’s development to a thriving intergenerational and multicultural community located near the Gungahlin town centre.

Gungahlin Uniting Church is an open and inclusive community.  You are welcome to join us and participate in the life of our community as we experience life, God and seek to follow the way of Christ.
