Prayer Points – 10 Apr 2011

April 10, 2011 by Church Office

For our GUC Community:

  • We pray for people we know who are hurting.
  • We pray for our Easter Worship Services
  • We give thanks for the many gifts, people, cultures, within our church.
  • We give thanks for those things which are good in our church life and we pray for those things that trouble us.

For Presbytery & the wider church: Hospital Chaplaincy
Pray for:

  • The patients and all their families that come to Canberra for treatment and feel far from home and their faith communities
  • The volunteers of the Uniting Team and all the teams that give graciously of their love to those in need
  • Pray that we might find those special people to fulfil our volunteer roster and ensure that there is a helping hand for every patient and their families
  • Pray that those entering their clinical pastoral care training have a rewarding and enriching experience that helps prepare their for their ministry

For our World: Japan, South Korea, North Korea, Taiwan
Pray for:

  • Those who continue to be affected by the atomic bombing of Nagasaki and Hiroshima.
  • An end to nuclear weapons.
  • Greater protection of human rights and a decrease in political corruption.
  • Those families torn apart by the separation of Nth and Sth Korea.
  • Peace in this region of frequent tension and misunderstanding.
  • Those in Nth Korea who suffer from malnutrition and face starvation.
  • Hope for people in Nth Korea who have seen only despair, deprivation and violence.
  • A just and peaceful resolution to the conflict between China and Taiwan, and an end to the ambiguous understanding of Taiwan’s identity in the world.
  • Those who seek power, prestige and wealth at the expense of spiritual wholeness, that they may be filled and renewed.
  • Aboriginal peoples in Taiwan.
  • Those still rebuilding their lives after powerful earthquakes.
  • Children forced into prostitution.

About GUC

We are a community on a journey. We’ve grown from a small faith community planted in Ngunnawal in the early years of Gungahlin’s development to a thriving intergenerational and multicultural community located near the Gungahlin town centre.

Gungahlin Uniting Church is an open and inclusive community.  You are welcome to join us and participate in the life of our community as we experience life, God and seek to follow the way of Christ.

Worship With Us

Every Sunday, 9:30am
Gungahlin Uniting Church and Community Centre
108 The Valley Avenue
Gungahlin, ACT, 2913

Worship is for all ages, (0 to 93!) and seeks to be meaningful in different ways for us all.

In Jesus Christ we see how he drew near to each and all and so we hope our worship expresses this nearness too.
