Prayer Points – 22 May 2011

May 22, 2011 by Church Office

For our GUC Community:

  • We pray for Noeleen Jeffrey whose sister died last weekend and whose son is ill.
  • We pray for people who are facing uncertainty in life, health, and their future.
  • We pray for our church as it ponders its own life and the way we are being led as a Christian Community
  • We pray for our Church Council as it meets this Thursday; for our chairperson Matt, secretary Jenelle, and Treasurer Narelle.
  • We give thanks for the road ahead.

For Presbytery & the wider church: The Presbytery
Pray for:

  • All involved in upcoming events being hosted by the Presbytery, Youth Ministry Unfiltered Conference, Safe Churches Courses, Living Values Uniting Church Leaders Orientation and Mission Shaped Ministry Program
  • Presbytery staff engaged in the preparation of programs, sustaining systems of communication and providing support to congregations
  • All who hold official positions within the Presbytery that they may give spirit led leadership
  • Wisdom for the shaping of a new staff team for 2012, including a new Chairperson and Presbytery Secretary
  • The continued vision of Presbytery to support all congregations in their mission

For our World: Botswana, Zimbabwe
Pray for:

  • The leaders of government and their success in bringing economic progress, education and health care to their people.
  • Landowners and the land workers, and those who are displaced by land reform.
  • Reconciliation between the races in Zimbabwe, leading to a society of equality and respect.
  • AIDS orphans.
  • Hope for those who have little to hope for.

About GUC

We are a community on a journey, we’ve grown from a small faith community planted in Ngunnawal in the early years of Gungahlin’s development to a thriving inclusive, intergenerational & multicultural community. As Gungahlin has grown we have seen a lot of change.

We are an open and inclusive community, everyone is welcome to use their gifts in worship, prayer, leadership, hospitality and teaching.

Worship With Us

Every Sunday, 9:30am
Gungahlin Uniting Church and Community Centre
108 The Valley Avenue
Gungahlin, ACT, 2913

Worship is for all ages, (0 to 93!) and seeks to be meaningful in different ways for us all.

In Jesus Christ we see how he drew near to each and all and so we hope our worship expresses this nearness too.
