Bulletin – 12 Jun 2011

June 12, 2011 by Church Office

Baptism of Lanna Rose Nouansy Nokham
Next Sunday we celebrate with Cassandra and Bebe as they bring Lanna for Baptism. Please come along and join with us on this occasion.

Admin Volunteer Needed…
Mark needs some admin help during the week on a regular basis. If anyone would like to volunteer for even just a couple of hours each week then please see him. Primarily it would be for computer work, printing, collating, mailing etc etc etc.

Billabong
Today… Billabong Youth meets from 2-4pm at the Museum for a scavenger hunt! Please meet near the front doors and bring a few $$ for a drink while we tally up the scores. Billabong is for youth year 6 and up… Friends welcome.

State of Origin (that’s football for the uneducated!)
The 2011 State of Origin series is underway with a win to Queensland last month. The second game will be played on Wednesday 15th June starting at 8:00pm…..as most of you will already know! While it would be great to go to the ANZ Stadium in Sydney to watch the event, a suggestion has been made that we should be able to watch the game at GUCCC using the large projectors and sound system in the main auditorium at GUCCC. All ex Boof-heads, families, friends, rugby fans are invited. The suggestion is that we share in a meal (junk food and pizza would be great) as we watch the game. BYO everything.

Gungahlin Uniting Book Reading Group
Meets every second Wednesday night at 8.30pm at The George Harcourt Inn at Gold Creek. Everyone is welcome. Our next book is “Happiness” by Richard Layard. If you are interested please speak with Rob Tanton or Matt Grudnoff.

About GUC

We are a community on a journey, we’ve grown from a small faith community planted in Ngunnawal in the early years of Gungahlin’s development to a thriving inclusive, intergenerational & multicultural community. As Gungahlin has grown we have seen a lot of change.

We are an open and inclusive community, everyone is welcome to use their gifts in worship, prayer, leadership, hospitality and teaching.

Worship With Us

Every Sunday, 9:30am
Gungahlin Uniting Church and Community Centre
108 The Valley Avenue
Gungahlin, ACT, 2913

Worship is for all ages, (0 to 93!) and seeks to be meaningful in different ways for us all.

In Jesus Christ we see how he drew near to each and all and so we hope our worship expresses this nearness too.
