Prayer Points – 06 Nov 2011

06/11/2011 by Church Office

For our GUC Community:

  • We pray for those amongst us whose children are unwell and struggling in life at this time.
  • We pray for those amongst us who are new.
  • We pray for those elected to Church Council for 2012.
  • We give thanks for our Spring Getaway in the coming weeks.

For Presbytery & the wider church: Alpine Congregation – a Partnership within Snowy Mountains Church

Pray for:

  • Combined churches family service in the Uniting Church at 10 am today followed by a picnic in the grounds.
  • Commencement of “Teach us to Pray” series beginning in November.
  • Unity and love as foundations for our partnership congregations.

For our World: Cameroon, Central African Republic, Equatorial Guinea
Pray for:

  • An end to violence and instability in the Republic of Congo.
  • All leaders, to use their power justly in service to all of the people, and to refrain from corrupt practices.
  • An end to autocratic rule.
  • Those involved in subsistence agriculture, that their crops may be plentiful and they have enough food to eat and clean water to drink.
  • Women, who often bear the brunt of poverty and receive less education than men and fewer opportunities.
  • An end to deforestation and desertification, and for the sustainable and responsible use of natural resources.
  • The just sharing of these countries’ natural resources, particularly oil, so that all the people reap the benefits of what God has given and not just those in power, or international corporations.

About GUC

We are a community on a journey. We’ve grown from a small faith community planted in Ngunnawal in the early years of Gungahlin’s development to a thriving intergenerational and multicultural community located near the Gungahlin town centre.

Gungahlin Uniting Church is an open and inclusive community.  You are welcome to join us and participate in the life of our community as we experience life, God and seek to follow the way of Christ.

Worship With Us

Every Sunday, 9:30am
Gungahlin Uniting Church and Community Centre

Worship is for all ages, (0 to 93!) and seeks to be meaningful in different ways for us all.

In Jesus Christ we see how he drew near to each and all and so we hope our worship expresses this nearness too.
