Bulletin – 26 Feb 2012

February 26, 2012 by Church Office

This week at Gungahlin Uniting…
Today is the 4th. Sunday in the month. This means we all worship together for the first half before we share in morning tea. Following Morning Tea Oasis (Primary aged) meets in the courtyard rooms, Billabong (Teenagers) meet with their mentors and in the auditorium there is a message and reflection on this week’s Bible readings.

Sunday Evenings in Lent @ Gungahlin Uniting
The first Sunday in Lent is 26th. February. Lent is the period of 40 days before Easter. Throughout Lent, each Sunday you are invited to a Bible Conversation in which we will simply discuss the Gospel reading for that Sunday. The Bible Conversation is from 5-6pm. Following this, if you wish, please stay for sandwiches and a cup of tea – please bring a plate if you are able. Then from 7-8pm there will be a new opportunity to worship in a creative, contemporary, informal way. Worship will be on the Sunday’s of 26th. February, 11th, 18th, 25th. March. Everyone is welcome.

Home Group for 2012
At Gungahlin Uniting we have Home Groups which meet on the 3rd. Weekend of the month for friendship and fellowship. The lists of all the groups are in the foyer today; each one named after a Biblical tree!. If you would like to belong to a group please see Mark or Shirley. If you Have any comments, or you thought your name would be on a list, but isn’t, again please see Mark.

Working Bee
We will be having a Working Bee on Saturday the 3rd March from 9.30 a.m. Anyone who will available to help give the church an extra clean (which we missed at the start of the year) will be welcomed and given morning tea. Those members of the congregation who love gardening will also be welcomed to help weed, perhaps mow, and give a general tidy up to the grounds.
Refer Pam or Frank for any details.

Oasis… children’s ministry for the primary aged.
At Gungahlin Uniting our primary aged children ministry is called Oasis.
This group meets during worship on Sunday mornings. Oasis is being led by Jenelle Martin with help of some other members of the congregation. We are in need of another 1-2 key leaders who will support this work, particularly in Terms 2 & 4 of this year. At Gungahlin Uniting we rotate our leaders between terms so that as adults you get to spend time in worship and hear the message too. If you are interested in Oasis leadership, please speak with Mark or Jenelle.

Just a reminder…
Home Group Leaders…
Meet with the Minister this Tuesday 28th. 7.30pm. at GUCCC.
Youth Mentors…

About GUC

We are a community on a journey, we’ve grown from a small faith community planted in Ngunnawal in the early years of Gungahlin’s development to a thriving inclusive, intergenerational & multicultural community. As Gungahlin has grown we have seen a lot of change.

We are an open and inclusive community, everyone is welcome to use their gifts in worship, prayer, leadership, hospitality and teaching.

Worship is for all ages, (0 to 93!) and seeks to be meaningful in different ways for us all.
