Prayer Points – 18 Mar 2012

18/03/2012 by Church Office

For our GUC Community:

  • We pray for visions for community mission as part of the life of GUC.
  • We pray for our Church Council, which meets this Thursday night.
  • We pray for leaders for our Oasis Children’s Ministry.
  • We pray for our Easter Worship.

For Presbytery & the wider church: Kippax Congregation
Pray for:

  • The recruitment of members of the Ministry team over the coming months.
  • The continued development of the children and family services of Uniting Care Kippax, with the two new counseling positions.
  • Wisdom in the way we can increase our support and nurture for the youth and young adults involved in the life of the congregation.

For our World: Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam
Pray for:

  • Those who grieve either because of civil war and genocide, or because of floods and other natural disasters.
  • Those who suffered losses in the tragic civil wars and genocides that marked the middle years of the twentieth century.
  • Women and children who are kidnapped and taken from their countries, forced to work in the sex industry.
  • The establishment of economic justice in Southeast Asia, and the reduction and elimination of debt to wealthy foreign countries.
  • The children of Cambodia, that they may know peace, and that they be able to play and attend school instead of making war.
  • The land, that it may be green again, its trees left unharmed and its fruit shared.
  • The poor, who subsist on an average of less than one US dollar per day.
  • Christian witness to the gospel.

About GUC

We are a community on a journey. We’ve grown from a small faith community planted in Ngunnawal in the early years of Gungahlin’s development to a thriving intergenerational and multicultural community located near the Gungahlin town centre.

Gungahlin Uniting Church is an open and inclusive community.  You are welcome to join us and participate in the life of our community as we experience life, God and seek to follow the way of Christ.

Worship With Us

Every Sunday, 9:30am
Gungahlin Uniting Church and Community Centre

Worship is for all ages, (0 to 93!) and seeks to be meaningful in different ways for us all.

In Jesus Christ we see how he drew near to each and all and so we hope our worship expresses this nearness too.
