Prayer Points – 20 May 2012

20/05/2012 by Church Office

For our GUC Community:

  • We pray for our Food Pantry idea and our work in the local community.
  • We pray for God leading and presence through his Spirit.
  • We give thanks for the many different people in our congregation.
  • We pray for those we know who are in need at this time.
  • We give thanks for all new and good things in our lives.

For Presbytery & the wider church:
Pray for:

  • Rev Alistair Christie, Chairperson of Presbytery; Rev Elizabeth Richardson and Rev Ivan Roberts – Deputy Chairpersons; Rev Kevin Dilks, Presbytery Secretary; Graeme Lowe, Treasurer Presbytery; Ministers Rev Kevin Dilks (Pastoral and Administration) and Rev Duncan Macleod (Mission and Education).
  • Jean Shannon, Hospital Chaplaincy Leader Rev John Blair and Jean Shannon who together are looking for ways to reinvigorate support for current pastoral carers, to encourage young people and recently retired or about-to-retire people to become involved; to discover what kind of training or support pastoral carers would like.
  • Presbytery News Editor, Brian Rope.
  • Synod Standing Committee Representative: Natalie Willis.

For our World: Malawi, Zambia
Pray for:

  • The democratic governments in Malawi and Zambia, that they may work for the welfare and development of the nation, irrespective of party affiliation.
  • Those suffering from AIDS, and government efforts to combat the AIDS pandemic. A sufficient supply of medical personnel, equipment and drugs in government hospitals and health centres.
  • Victims of floods and drought, that food production may again flourish.
  • The increasing numbers of school drop-outs, street youth and delinquents, that they may find hope and meaning in their lives.

About GUC

We are a community on a journey. We’ve grown from a small faith community planted in Ngunnawal in the early years of Gungahlin’s development to a thriving intergenerational and multicultural community located near the Gungahlin town centre.

Gungahlin Uniting Church is an open and inclusive community.  You are welcome to join us and participate in the life of our community as we experience life, God and seek to follow the way of Christ.

Worship With Us

Every Sunday, 9:30am
Gungahlin Uniting Church and Community Centre

Worship is for all ages, (0 to 93!) and seeks to be meaningful in different ways for us all.

In Jesus Christ we see how he drew near to each and all and so we hope our worship expresses this nearness too.
