Prayer Points – 04 Sep 2011

04/09/2011 by Church Office

For our GUC Community:

  • We pray for the First Sunday Cafe tonight.
  • We pray for our church as we seek people to undertake special tasks for 2012.
  • We pray as we consider who we will elect for Church Council in 2012.
  • We give thanks to God for life and for spring!

For Presbytery & the wider church: Federal Parliament
Pray for:

  • wisdom and patience for all parliamentarians so that they will seek to do that which is right rather than that which is simply expedient;
  • Christian parliamentarians who seek to maintain their faith and actions that are consistent with their faith in all that they consider and confront in the parliament.

For our World: Albania, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Croatia, Slovenia
Pray for:

  • New governments and guidance for leaders.
  • Displaced persons and refugees.
  • An end to ethnic hatred and the establishment of human rights for all.
  • Women who were raped during the wars.
  • Healing and renewal in the church, and unity through the gifts of the Holy Spirit.
  • Those who mourn.
  • Young people as they try to find a way forward.

RSS Bible Gateway’s Verse of the Day

  • Romans 8:1-2
“[Life Through the Spirit] Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death.”

About GUC

We are a community on a journey. We’ve grown from a small faith community planted in Ngunnawal in the early years of Gungahlin’s development to a thriving intergenerational and multicultural community located near the Gungahlin town centre.

Gungahlin Uniting Church is an open and inclusive community.  You are welcome to join us and participate in the life of our community as we experience life, God and seek to follow the way of Christ.

Worship With Us

Every Sunday, 9:30am
Gungahlin Uniting Church and Community Centre

Worship is for all ages, (0 to 93!) and seeks to be meaningful in different ways for us all.

In Jesus Christ we see how he drew near to each and all and so we hope our worship expresses this nearness too.
