18/09/2011 by Church Office

For our GUC Community:

  • We pray for leaders for our church life in 2012.
  • We pray for our community events together; the Curry Night and the Spring Getaway!
  • We pray for those who will help lead worship in the coming month.
  • We pray for those in our congregation who are finding life overwhelming at this time.
  • We pray for those whose lives seem consumed and where hope is a distant thing.

For Presbytery & the wider church: South Woden Congregation
Pray for:

  • We give thanks for our children and for the invigoration of our Sunday School program
  • We give thanks for our regular shared community meals
  • We celebrate our ongoing friendship with the congregation of St James, and give thanks for our recent combined service and meal.
  • We pray for the coming Pearce community Christmas Carols
  • We pray for Christmas outreach opportunities

For our World: Belarus, Moldova, Russia, Ukraine
Pray for:

  • Guidance, as these nations work to reconfigure political and economic structures.
  • Compassion and integrity for all peoples in these nations with such diverse ethnic histories.
  • Those who suffer from alcoholism, HIV and AIDS, tuberculosis and other life-threatening diseases.
  • The large numbers of people who now live in poverty and are unemployed.
  • Revitalization of the churches after decades of official atheism.
  • Those in Belarus and Ukraine who suffer from the continued effects of the Chernobyl nuclear disaster.
  • Those who struggle for democracy and truthfulness in the media.

  • Romans 8:1-2
“[Life Through the Spirit] Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death.”

About GUC

We are a community on a journey. We’ve grown from a small faith community planted in Ngunnawal in the early years of Gungahlin’s development to a thriving intergenerational and multicultural community located near the Gungahlin town centre.

Gungahlin Uniting Church is an open and inclusive community.  You are welcome to join us and participate in the life of our community as we experience life, God and seek to follow the way of Christ.

Worship With Us

Every Sunday, 9:30am
Gungahlin Uniting Church and Community Centre

Worship is for all ages, (0 to 93!) and seeks to be meaningful in different ways for us all.

In Jesus Christ we see how he drew near to each and all and so we hope our worship expresses this nearness too.
