About the Role
Gungahlin Uniting Church has developed a staged plan to build our Family and Young People’s ministry. We have implemented our first stage, building energy, momentum and growth across the congregation in our young people’s ministry.
We are now seeking an experienced and passionate Family and Young People’s Ministry Facilitator to help lead us in the next exciting stages of our ministry with young people and their families.
Key Responsibilities
This full-time role will focus on strengthening our commitment to our young people and their families. Depending on the successful applicant’s level of experience and qualifications, key responsibilities include:
- Guiding the expansion of our family and young people’s ministry.
- Developing faith and discipleship pathways, empowering and inspiring the next generation of faith leaders.
- Mentoring and developing volunteers.
- Developing family friendly creative and innovative worship spaces.
- Promoting relationships across Presbytery and the community.
- Strengthening intergenerational relationships, building a warm and inclusive environment that values the presence and contributions of young people and their families.
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has a vibrant Christian faith and commitment to youth ministry.
- Has ministry/pastoral experience with young people.
- Has a Ministry or other relevant qualification (desirable).
- Can work collaboratively in a team environment and independently with minimum supervision.
- Can build relationships with people of all ages.
- Has highly effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Has highly effective organisational and time management skills.
- Can lead a congregation in intergenerational worship, including preaching.
- Is eligible (or willing to become eligible) for commissioning as a Pastor within the UCA (desirable).
