Our Church at Prayer…

March 11, 2016 by Church Office

Inviting you to think about our own church community, the wider church, the world!

  • We pray for our worship over Easter and for all who visit from the community, from families, from other church congregations.
  • We pray for North Belconnen Congregation- for Easter services, the ministry team and youth inside the church as well as those in the wider community.
  • This week we pray for Myanmar and Thailand. For the children in Myanmar, especially child soldiers, orphans, refugees and those forced into labour and prostitution.

Gardener’s Support Fund

March 5, 2016 by Church Office

Thinking he was the gardener, she said, “Sir, if you have carried him away, tell me where you have put him, and I will get him.” 16 Jesus said to her, “Mary.” She turned toward him and cried out in Aramaic, “Rabboni!” (which means “Teacher”).

The passage above is from the resurrection account in John. Mary, seeing the body of Jesus gone, doesn’t recognise Jesus when she finally sees him because she thinks he is the gardener.

As part of our Food Garden work, we have talked about employing a “Gardener”. The Gardener will look after our church grounds and also help take care of our Food Garden.

About GUC

We are a community on a journey, we’ve grown from a small faith community planted in Ngunnawal in the early years of Gungahlin’s development to a thriving inclusive, intergenerational & multicultural community. As Gungahlin has grown we have seen a lot of change.

We are an open and inclusive community, everyone is welcome to use their gifts in worship, prayer, leadership, hospitality and teaching.

Worship is for all ages, (0 to 93!) and seeks to be meaningful in different ways for us all.

In Jesus Christ we see how he drew near to each and all and so we hope our worship expresses this nearness too.
