A Note from the Food Pantry….

February 19, 2016 by Church Office

What an interesting week we had, literally working in the middle of a construction site, although I have a feeling the worse is yet to come- the internal walls will be pulled down this coming week, but as always we will rise to the challenge.

Food_Pantry_extension_1I estimate about 100 people were buzzing around our buildings on Thursday morning- what a great little community we have happening. English classes crossing paths with Food Pantry customers, builders, donators, staff and volunteers- all working side by side. To see some great community in action come and join us on a Thursday and see what it really means to be ‘the church’.

Family relationship breakdown seemed to be a common theme coming through in conversations with people this week. [Read more…]

Our Church at Prayer…

February 19, 2016 by Church Office

Inviting you to think about our own church community, the wider church, the world!

  • We pray for Church Council as it meets this week for the first time this year. Pray for each person on our Church Council and for our Minister. Chris Dodd, Heather Lamb, Randy Albrecht, Wanda Beeby, Margaret Ford, Mark Phythian, Christine Walmsley, Pauline Loughhead, and Mark Faulkner.
  • We pray for University Chaplaincy- concern over the increasingly decreasing support amongst administrators, but also that there would be an effective Uniting Church presence on campus.
  • This week we pray for Italy, Malta, Portugal, Spain. Wisdom and guidance in dealing with immigration issues. Pray also for the victims of human trafficking.

About GUC

We are a community on a journey, we’ve grown from a small faith community planted in Ngunnawal in the early years of Gungahlin’s development to a thriving inclusive, intergenerational & multicultural community. As Gungahlin has grown we have seen a lot of change.

We are an open and inclusive community, everyone is welcome to use their gifts in worship, prayer, leadership, hospitality and teaching.
