Notes from Synod….

April 22, 2016 by Church Office

Over four days last weekend our Minister Mark attended the General Synod Meeting of the NSW & ACT Synod. In the Uniting Church all congregations belong to a regional gathering of Uniting Churches called a Presbytery, and all the Presbyteries make up the Synod which is all of NSW & ACT. Each 18 months the Synod gathers for its General Synod Meeting. [Read more…]

Food Garden Support

April 22, 2016 by Church Office

The Mustard Seed Uniting Food Garden is slowly growing to be an encouraging part of the Food Pantry and also our connection with the wider community. We have a group of coordinators who meet irregularly to help oversee what is going on. We are particularly looking for a person who would like to play a key coordinating role with the Garden. If you would like to talk about being involved, please speak with our Minister Mark, or Randy Albrecht, Margaret Ford, David Abraham, Narelle Dodd, Renee Buchanan.

Our Church at Prayer…

April 22, 2016 by Church Office

  • We pray for our Church Council which meets on Thursday evening. For our Treasurer Randy, Secretary Heather and Chairperson Chris.
  • This week we pray for Hospital Chaplaincy. Give thanks for the loving volunteers as pastoral carers in the community and hospitals; as financial and material supporters; as knitters and cross-makers and as champions of chaplaincy.
  • This week we pray for Djibouti, Somalia. Pray for the hundreds of thousands of Somali refugees all over the world and refugees from Eritrea and Ethiopia who have fled to Djibouti.

About GUC

We are a community on a journey, we’ve grown from a small faith community planted in Ngunnawal in the early years of Gungahlin’s development to a thriving inclusive, intergenerational & multicultural community. As Gungahlin has grown we have seen a lot of change.

We are an open and inclusive community, everyone is welcome to use their gifts in worship, prayer, leadership, hospitality and teaching.

Worship With Us

Every Sunday, 9:30am
Gungahlin Uniting Church and Community Centre
108 The Valley Avenue

Worship is for all ages, (0 to 93!) and seeks to be meaningful in different ways for us all.

In Jesus Christ we see how he drew near to each and all and so we hope our worship expresses this nearness too.
