Our Church at Prayer…

April 2, 2016 by Church Office

Inviting you to think about our own church community, the wider church, the world!

  • We pray for our playgroup, boys brigade and girls brigade. For their leaders, grandparents, and helpers. We give thanks for the way these groups support children and parents in the wider community.
  • We pray for the South Woden Congregation this week as they search for a new minister, that they may have patience and guidance.
  • This week we pray for Brunei, Malaysia, Singapore: for the respectful use of natural resources and sustainable practices.

Lent Event

March 18, 2016 by Church Office

Some of us are making a donation to the Lent Event Projects, this Easter, and plan to send our gifts off together as a group from Gungahlin Uniting. If you would like to join us, give your gift (in cash or a cheque) to Margaret Reeson between now and Easter Sunday. You can also donate on line. We will be supporting work in the Pacific to combat domestic violence, training midwives from South Sudan, livelihood projects in Zimbabwe and an HIV clinic in West Papua.

Your Church has made a donation to Fiji!

March 18, 2016 by Church Office

Each year our church gives 10% of its income to the work of the wider church and to support others in need. A portion of this is designated for a disaster relief effort. The Church Council on behalf of the congregation has donated $1000 to the Red Cross who are working in Fiji following Cyclone Winston.

Donations will assist Red Cross to provide humanitarian support to people and communities affected by Cyclone Winston in and around Fiji. That support may include:

  • emergency relief and recovery assistance such as food, water, sanitation, shelter and health initiatives including blood
  • sending specialist aid workers to assist in assessment, relief, recovery and disaster and crisis management operations
  • working in affected areas to strengthen local resilience and deliver effective relief and recovery services.

Thank you for your ongoing support.

About GUC

We are a community on a journey, we’ve grown from a small faith community planted in Ngunnawal in the early years of Gungahlin’s development to a thriving inclusive, intergenerational & multicultural community. As Gungahlin has grown we have seen a lot of change.

We are an open and inclusive community, everyone is welcome to use their gifts in worship, prayer, leadership, hospitality and teaching.

Worship is for all ages, (0 to 93!) and seeks to be meaningful in different ways for us all.
