Our Church at Prayer …

June 17, 2017 by Church Office

Inviting you to think about our own church community the wider church, the world!
prayer

  • We pray for our Playgroup which meets every Wednesday. We are thankful for its part within the life of our church over many years and for the way it has encouraged many parents and their children. We give thanks for Cassandra who coordinates and for our grandparents who support this group with hospitality.
  • This week we pray for Defence Force Chaplaincy and for the families grieving the loss of loved ones through the accidental deaths recently in training mishaps both in Queensland and the Northern Territory
  • This week we pray for Malawi, Zambia; for the sufficient supply of medical personnel, equipment and drugs in government hospitals and health centres.

A message from Canberra Region Presbytery

June 17, 2017 by Church Office

The Presbytery acknowledges with thanks Mark’s closure of ministry with Gungahlin Uniting Church. Along with Gungahlin we give thanks for Mark’s ten years with them – he will be missed.

Blessings to both Mark and Peta-Gai as Mark moves into his future work with the wider church. Gungahlin Congregation gives thanks also for Rev Dr Jonathan Barker’s willingness and availability to be Supply Minister from August. Please pray for their JNC (Joint Nominating Committee) as they work towards a new Minister for Gungahlin Uniting Church.

About GUC

We are a community on a journey, we’ve grown from a small faith community planted in Ngunnawal in the early years of Gungahlin’s development to a thriving inclusive, intergenerational & multicultural community. As Gungahlin has grown we have seen a lot of change.

We are an open and inclusive community, everyone is welcome to use their gifts in worship, prayer, leadership, hospitality and teaching.

Worship With Us

Every Sunday, 9:30am
Gungahlin Uniting Church and Community Centre
108 The Valley Avenue

Worship is for all ages, (0 to 93!) and seeks to be meaningful in different ways for us all.

In Jesus Christ we see how he drew near to each and all and so we hope our worship expresses this nearness too.
