A message from Mark

31/03/2017 by Church Office

Hello Friends,

On Thursday 23rd I met with the Church Council and Sunday 26th I announced to the congregation that I have been asked to take on another position within the life of the Uniting Church, which I have accepted. This means that I will be leaving Gungahlin Uniting by the middle of the year. This has not been an easy time for me personally as I have thought through this change, but I do sense there is something of God in the road that lies ahead. The new position I have been asked to fill is to establish a team who will work creatively with the many rural congregations and Christian communities who have no strong leadership or Ministry at this time.

Inviting you to think about our own church community the wider church, the world!
prayer

  • We pray for our Church Council, our congregation and Minister Mark at this time of change. Let us be a people of thankfulness.
  • This week we pray for South Woden Congregation, for an ongoing warm and productive relationship with Weston Creek UC as they share a minister, and for the Carers Team as they provide pastoral care to members.
  • This week we pray for The Balkans-Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, FYR of Macedonia, Kosovo, Montenegro, Serbia, Slovenia. Pray that religion may be a means of healing rather than of further separation and exploitation.

About GUC

We are a community on a journey. We’ve grown from a small faith community planted in Ngunnawal in the early years of Gungahlin’s development to a thriving intergenerational and multicultural community located near the Gungahlin town centre.

Gungahlin Uniting Church is an open and inclusive community.  You are welcome to join us and participate in the life of our community as we experience life, God and seek to follow the way of Christ.
