Rev. Jonathan Barker

Bible Readings
Exodus 32:1-14; Matthew 19:27-30

Greetings to the Gungahlin Uniting community

Our weekly series featuring THE GREAT ESCAPE is nearing the end. Today’s story of the golden calf reminds us how hard it can be to wait for answers when we are not sure where things are going. The temptation is to place all our trust in material securities and forget that we do not live “by bread alone.”

  • This week we give thanks and pray for those we share our facilities with, including Girl Guides, dance groups and English class teachers and students.
  • This week we pray for Yarralumla congregation. Give thanks and pray for those who have retired this past year after many years of fruitful service and contribution. Our prayers are especially with the ageing congregation and the members for whom ill health has become part of daily life. We pray for their spouses, carers and families.

Being Pilgrims On The Way With God

October 14, 2017 by Church Office

The famous Ten Commandments are not just rules for “right” behaviour. They express the two primary commands: to love God and our neighbour. They are the visible expression of a new bond (i.e. covenant) between the one-real-compassionate God and those who have been set free from slavery. About GUC

We are a community on a journey, we’ve grown from a small faith community planted in Ngunnawal in the early years of Gungahlin’s development to a thriving inclusive, intergenerational & multicultural community. As Gungahlin has grown we have seen a lot of change.

We are an open and inclusive community, everyone is welcome to use their gifts in worship, prayer, leadership, hospitality and teaching.

Worship is for all ages, (0 to 93!) and seeks to be meaningful in different ways for us all.
