Our Church at Prayer…

September 2, 2016 by Church Office

Inviting you to think about our own church community, the wider church, the world!

  • We pray for our Minister Mark and Peta-Gai while they are away. We pray for each other in different places and times of life.
  • This week we pray for Wattle Park Congregation; for the health and well-being of its members and for Church Council and lay leaders in this time without a minister.
  • This week we pray for Czech Republic, Poland, Slovakia; for the victims of anti-semitism and ethnic, gender and social intolerance in the midst of rising nationalism and the search for identity.

A note from our Minister Mark…

September 2, 2016 by Church Office

Over the coming weeks Peta-Gai and I will be away on holidays from 10th September – 11th October.

Gungahlin Uniting is fortunate to have many gifted leaders and worship during this time will be an opportunity to hear the reflections and faith of others. I will be mindful of you as you gather and as you live out our Christian faith together. If you have any administrative questions in this time please speak with Alison Tweedie. The best day to talk with Alison in the office is Wednesday. If you have any pastoral needs there are people in the congregation for support and conversation; Heather Lamb & Margaret Reeson are available also.

Peace to you all in this time.

First Sunday Converse & Café!

September 2, 2016 by Church Office

On the first Sunday of each month we have First Sunday Converse & Café! This is a time of worship, but without a sermon, singing, offering and sitting in rows. It is a time of reflection, Bible conversation, prayers, silence, and music. Everyone is invited to come along at 6pm. After, for those who would like, there is the opportunity to walk down to a local café/restaurant for a meal together.

Beyond Festival: September 30 – October 3 (October Long Weekend)

September 2, 2016 by Church Office

Beyond is an important festival because it brings the most incredible artists together with some of Australia’s most passionate and respected humanitarians and justice advocates – combining head and heart – in order to celebrate, educate and equip us to develop a more welcoming, inclusive and just nation.

This year Megan Washington, Prof Gillian Triggs, Lior, Tim Costello and loads of others are coming together and we’d really like you to come too.

About GUC

We are a community on a journey, we’ve grown from a small faith community planted in Ngunnawal in the early years of Gungahlin’s development to a thriving inclusive, intergenerational & multicultural community. As Gungahlin has grown we have seen a lot of change.

We are an open and inclusive community, everyone is welcome to use their gifts in worship, prayer, leadership, hospitality and teaching.

Worship With Us

Every Sunday, 9:30am
Gungahlin Uniting Church and Community Centre
108 The Valley Avenue
Gungahlin, ACT, 2913

Worship is for all ages, (0 to 93!) and seeks to be meaningful in different ways for us all.

In Jesus Christ we see how he drew near to each and all and so we hope our worship expresses this nearness too.
