First Sunday Converse & Café!

September 2, 2016 by Church Office

On the first Sunday of each month we have First Sunday Converse & Café! This is a time of worship, but without a sermon, singing, offering and sitting in rows. It is a time of reflection, Bible conversation, prayers, silence, and music. Everyone is invited to come along at 6pm. After, for those who would like, there is the opportunity to walk down to a local café/restaurant for a meal together.

Beyond Festival: September 30 – October 3 (October Long Weekend)

September 2, 2016 by Church Office

Beyond is an important festival because it brings the most incredible artists together with some of Australia’s most passionate and respected humanitarians and justice advocates – combining head and heart – in order to celebrate, educate and equip us to develop a more welcoming, inclusive and just nation.

This year Megan Washington, Prof Gillian Triggs, Lior, Tim Costello and loads of others are coming together and we’d really like you to come too.

September 2, 2016 by Church Office

Rev. Mark Faulkner

Bible Readings
Jeremiah 18:1-11; Psalm 139:1-6, 13-18

Sunday morning worship…. is at 9.30am.  This Sunday I will be leading all of our worship and there will not be a Billabong Breakfast; we share morning tea in the middle of worship.  All of this week’s lectionary readings are strong passages, but I will focus mostly on Jeremiah 18: 1-11.

I look forward to seeing you.

Cheers.

Mark

Our Community Gardener and now our… Community Cook & Kitchen Assistant

August 20, 2016 by Church Office

We are thankful to have Riyadh as our gardener. Riyadh comes to garden each Wednesday and Thursday mornings. Our Grounds have been looking wonderful and through the sharing of the ride on mower with the Salvation Army and the fact that Riyadh mows their grass too the bonds between us have been closer. Riyadh has also single headedly constructed the new Food Garden shed over the past week. We are thankful to have Riyadh as part of our congregation.

About GUC

We are a community on a journey, we’ve grown from a small faith community planted in Ngunnawal in the early years of Gungahlin’s development to a thriving inclusive, intergenerational & multicultural community. As Gungahlin has grown we have seen a lot of change.

We are an open and inclusive community, everyone is welcome to use their gifts in worship, prayer, leadership, hospitality and teaching.

Worship With Us

Every Sunday, 9:30am
Gungahlin Uniting Church and Community Centre

Worship is for all ages, (0 to 93!) and seeks to be meaningful in different ways for us all.

In Jesus Christ we see how he drew near to each and all and so we hope our worship expresses this nearness too.
