Food Basket as part of our offering!

13/08/2016 by Church Office

What is the basket we bring forward each week as part of our offering?

The congregation at Gungahlin Uniting has throughout its life had a basket where members can bring and leave food each week. Food that fills the basket is taken to our Food Pantry where customers come each week to get groceries. We bring the basket forward each week because the food we bring is part of our offering and part of our work as a church. Please remember the basket when you are doing your own grocery shopping. Tins of food and fruit are always best along with other non-perishable items and toilet paper.

KAIROS OUTSIDE FOR WOMEN #17

13/08/2016 by Church Office

The annual weekend for Kairos Outside for Women (KOW) is happening this weekend. Our own Margaret Reeson is there as a leader. Please pray for Margaret, the other leaders and the women who are attending. KOW is a Christian ministry for women who have been impacted by having someone close to them who has spent time in jail. These may be mothers or sisters, wives, girl friends or daughters, and each of them has struggled with what this has meant for their family.

KAIROS OUTSIDE FOR WOMEN (KOW)

06/08/2016 by Church Office

The 17th annual weekend for Kairos Outside for Women (KOW) will be held at Greenhills Conference Centre, near the Cotter River, on 12-14 August. KOW is a Christian ministry for women who have been impacted by having someone close to them who has spent time in jail. These may be mothers or sisters, wives, girlfriends or daughters, and each of them has struggled with what this has meant for their family. A large team of women from many different Christian churches in our region will be there to facilitate the program and to support the guests with prayer, love and thoughtful listening. This year, Margaret Reeson from GUC is a member of the team and will be happy to talk to you about it.

About GUC

We are a community on a journey. We’ve grown from a small faith community planted in Ngunnawal in the early years of Gungahlin’s development to a thriving intergenerational and multicultural community located near the Gungahlin town centre.

Gungahlin Uniting Church is an open and inclusive community.  You are welcome to join us and participate in the life of our community as we experience life, God and seek to follow the way of Christ.
