This week we pray for and give thanks for the ministry of the Mustard Seed Food Pantry, this week the ministry turned 6 years old having opened on the 20th of June 2013. We give thanks for the people throughout its life that have participated through giving of time, money, prayer, food and hospitality. The community that surrounds the pantry is truly special and we give thanks to God for its life and ministry. We also pray for those in our community who struggle financially, we pray for a time where there is no need for services like the food pantry and people are able to gain a living income and are not stressed out by utility bills or rent, we pray that there will be a time where people are not needing to sleep in cars for lack of other alternatives.

This week we pray for the community that gathers around the Food Pantry, for the volunteers, for the people involved in Foodbank and OzHarvest, the work they perform and the communities they help feed. In particular we pray for the people in our community for whom the sudden cold and wet weather brings added stress, for those who go without heating, for those who struggle to find a place to sleep, for those without hearing, for those who are sleeping in their cars, for those who struggle to put food on their table and for those who do not have a table.

This week we pray for Lesotho, Namibia, South Africa, Swaziland-  for more democratic and transparent governance in these countries at all levels and effectively countering rape, sexual violence, and other crime.

May they know God is with them on each step of the journey they take. May the next couple of weeks be filled with the Peace of God and the love of God’s community.

This week we pray for the Monaro Parish- for the programs and projects currently undertaken and the people God reaches through the work and worship of these congregations.

This week we pray for Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal- for efforts of governments and others to build up these nations’ economies.

About GUC

We are a community on a journey. We’ve grown from a small faith community planted in Ngunnawal in the early years of Gungahlin’s development to a thriving intergenerational and multicultural community located near the Gungahlin town centre.

Gungahlin Uniting Church is an open and inclusive community.  You are welcome to join us and participate in the life of our community as we experience life, God and seek to follow the way of Christ.
