October 28, 2017 by Church Office

Inviting you to think about our own church community the wider church, the world!
prayer

  • This week we pray for those who are pondering their nomination for Church Council and for our AGM, which is not really a meeting, but a reflection on our life as a church and directions for the future.
  • This week we pray for the Bega-Tathra congregations. Give thanks that God has opened the way to be teaching SRE for year 7 at Bega High as of 2018.
  • This week we pray for Canada, United States of America. Give thanks for those who tell stories from other parts of the world linking the poverty of the developing world to the consumerism and wealth of North Americans.

Behind such a choice, there is always the further question – life for whom?

A Relenting God

October 21, 2017 by Church Office

In today’s remarkable episode (Exodus 32: 1-14) Moses gets God “to change his mind” from giving up on the Israelites after they fashioned a golden calf when it seemed that God was absent. Other biblical instances of God’s mind being changed include: Jeremiah who quotes the LORD saying “I will change my mind about the disaster that I intended” and in Jonah we also have a clearly relenting God.

About GUC

We are a community on a journey, we’ve grown from a small faith community planted in Ngunnawal in the early years of Gungahlin’s development to a thriving inclusive, intergenerational & multicultural community. As Gungahlin has grown we have seen a lot of change.

We are an open and inclusive community, everyone is welcome to use their gifts in worship, prayer, leadership, hospitality and teaching.
