Renee Buchannan Renee is a long serving, energetic, and enthusiastic member of Gungahlin Uniting Church (GUC) and has been involved in numerous GUC activities over the years. She is dedicated to bringing people and families together to build connections within our family of faith, as displayed in her willingness to be part of our pastoral care program and take a leadership role in one of our “Home Groups”. This year she has joined our creative talented music group and has also been enthralling our younger children and adults alike when presenting the children’s story. She has a strong commitment to support the youth of our congregation. Renee is willing to serve on Church Council for 1 year. |
Colin Christian Colin has been an enthusiastic member of Gungahlin Uniting church since he joined the Congregation a few years ago and has been involved with numerous activities of the Congregation. He is a current enthusiastic member of the building committee and shares the responsibility of the maintenance of the church’s property He has also taken on the management and oversight of the OH&S requirements for GUC in line with the Synod recommendations He has a strong work ethic is reliable and dedicated to these roles. Colin is prepared to serve on Church Council for 2 years. |
Josephine Deo Josephine has been a long term and faithful member of the Gungahlin Uniting Church. She contributes beautifully to the daily evening prayer email and supports the greeting and morning tea rosters. Her kind attitude to help and serve people should be beneficial to the church through a leadership role. Josephine has a very strong faith and understanding of different cultures and has the ability to mentor and develop members of the congregation with the skills to develop their faith potential. She is always considerate of others in our community. She has experience with decision making, potential leadership for a multi-cultural church like GUC. Josephine is willing to serve on Church Council for 1 year. |
Narelle Dodd Narelle has the gift of leadership and can lead teams to get things done (eg.the Safe Church compliance, working bees). Narelle displays faithful service to both her faith and commitment to GUC. She is willing to struggle along with others to work out the best way forward. She has served in various roles and dependable and is a clear thinker and committed Christian. Narelle has vast church experience and is a great communicator. Narelle was elected in 2024 and is continuing to serve on Church Council. |
Alison McKenzie Alision has been an active member of the GUC congregation for many years and has always been supportive of the ministry team in the conduct of worship. She has very humbly been innovative in sharing her numerous musical and organisational talents. She is always very approachable and ready to have a listening ear without judgement. As a committed member of the Congregation, she has a clear understanding of the wider picture and of the impact that council decisions have on the life of the church and has a clear ability to discern God’s purpose for our community. Alison is willing to serve on Church Council for 1 year. |
Reeba Nasim While Reeba is a relatively new person to GUC, she and her family have readily participated in and contributed to the life of the congregation in a friendly and caring way. Reeba is a talented singer and storyteller and an excellent communicator which we have seen as she has prepared and presented the children’s talks during worship. Reeba is very willing to contribute and share her skills and talents with members of GUC. She has the ability to interact appropriately and caringly with individuals and other communities in need and would be able to offer the perspective of culturally and linguistically diverse members. Reeba is willing to serve on Church Council for 1 year. |
Robert Shelton Rob is a long-term member of GUC with experience and understanding of the role of church council. He is very familiar with GUC and is very knowledgeable on church related matters. Rob has knowledge of the wider Uniting Church. His wisdom around finances will assist us as we future plan and look at a grant for a youth pastor. He has great financial knowledge, awareness of the roles and responsibilities of the wider church and has a good, sensible head on his shoulders which is essential as we move into a new phase at GUC. Robert is willing to serve on Church Council for 2 years. |
